Southside Hitmen: Sox Weekly

19-8, Missed our goal by 1 win.
So I have made several roster moves in the last few days and I hope to make several more. We have some glaring holes in our lineup, depth chart and pitching. We are a good team but I do not think we are built to win in the playoffs right now.
Trading Tom Haynes for Dave Byrd gave me some more versatility coming off of the bench. Byrd doesn't have the power that Haynes has but he is better defensively and has speed. He can play 2B/1B/3B.

Trading Charles Small for Toby Anderson gave us better speed, defense and youth. Small was a FA at the end of the year and despite the fact that our OW wanting me to resign him, I felt Small would be more of a defensive liability as time moved on. He had some good seasons for us and did far better then I thought he would. Anderson has pop but will strikeout and I am unsure were to hit him at.

Mark Neely was called up from AAA and will get every opportunity to pitch is close games.
I called up Tim Osborne after DFAing 3B Brian Gray. Osborne can play all 3 OF spots and 3B. He has great speed and a little pop. I hope that he or Roundtree can take over CF by 2003.
