Transactions:
Placed RP Dani Rúbio on the 11-day disabled list, retroactive to 07/11/2038.
Purchased the contract of RP José Santos from Triple A San Juan.
Placed C José Matos on the 11-day disabled list, retroactive to 07/14/2038.
Purchased the contract of 3B Fernando Cirin from Triple A San Juan.
Demoted SP José Santos to Triple A San Juan.
Placed SP Juan Cuesta on the active roster.
Activated SP Juan Cuesta from the disabled list.

Before Santos could pitch in a game Cuesta came off the DL and back down Santos went. It was either Santos or Krall, but Krall has been quite awesome since being called up.

Traded 25-year-old minor league first baseman Jesús Hernández to the Wilmington Iron Pigs, getting 24-year-old minor league second baseman Amberlan Pepito in return.

I dealt away Hernandez, because he didn't want to sign with me and I had no place for him on the roster. Not a deal I wanted to make, but I felt like I had to or lose him. Plus he wasn't happy when I offered him an minor league extension. He may even start for the Pigs.

Injuries:
MR Dani Rubio, Flexor-pronator strain, 3-weeks, 11-day DL
MR Dustin McNeil, torn UCL, 9 months, 60-day DL
SP Gehrig Pearl, Torn triceps, 8 weeks, 11-day DL
CL Tim Meyers, Chronic back soreness, 1-2 weeks, 11-day DL
C Jose Matos, Hip flexor strain, 6 days (DtD), 11-day DL
OF Byung-Ho Ch'on, ruputred finger tendon, 2-3 months, 11-day DL

I put Matos on the DL with the hip strain as I figured it makes more sense than risking him getting hurt more. At 22-years-old he should be in the lineup for a few more years. Better safe than sorry, plus at catcher I think it makes sense.

Other/Roster News:

GM Notes:
We gained some more ground in our division with another fine week. Gaining a game or two a week is making me feel a lot better about our chances. I am still expecting some kind of cold spell, but hopefully that doesn't come. One thing I keep flashing back to is April that really happened, was it a sign? A fluke? I still can't figure that out.

As all our stats seem to be coming back down to 'normal', our defense isn't budging off that 12th best slot. There are only 13 teams in the DC so what the heck is that about? That is my concern about going deep into the playoffs, can you win and have a defense this poor? Eugene Todd seems to be the biggest brick-hadn out there with 11 errors, but then there is Ambrose Gutierrez who has 6, 3 of them in out field! How do you commit that many errors in the OF? You have to have a huge ZR right? NOPE! Its only 2.21. Crazy... it looks like I am building a team of DH's out here.

Looking at our ZR's is deadly.. -1.6, -2.4, -0.2, -1.4, -2.8, -1.2... really? I can't look anymore...

The last 2 weeks of this month are going to be the toughest ones. We play the Colonials and the Beacons next week. Followed by the Braves and the Millers. Are solid teams, not great teams, but not bad teams. Games we should win... but we do play those pesky Beacons, who I hate playing because they always seem to beat us.

It has been such an odd season. I am not used to having an offensive minded team. This offense has been crazy good and even if it lasts only a few more months I am enjoying it. I never thought you could win games with an offense, I always targeted pitching and defense... this is fun.

I am not sure there is much more to say right now. We are winning and playing well. I just hope we can continue this and stay healthy. The good thing is we have depth for the bottom of the roster, but if we start losing some of the 'stars' then we might be in trouble in the long haul. We have to hit, we have to pitch and we have to start fielding the ball. I feel like we have the team this year that can get further than any other Chadds Ford team... at 64 going on 65 (game years old) I am not sure how much longer I got left.
