Do you mean the 1899 Cleveland Spiders? Although the 1890 version went 44-88 so that isn't exactly championship material either. 
EDIT: 1890 was the year of the Player's League. I don't know if it's included, so all PL players might be free agents and Cleveland might have signed some good ones.
