The bottom of the fourth ended with Fitzmorris striking out Mason for his 10th K of the season.
The Royals loaded the bases with one out in the top of the sixth. But failed to add to their lead.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Rangers got runners on the corners with one out. The Royals made a pitching change and brought in Bruce Dal Canton. Howard grounded one to third but beat out the double play, allowing Biittner to score from third.

With one out in the top of the seventh, Rogers issued his seventh walk of the game and was replaced by Mike Garman.
The Rangers committed 2 errors in the top of the eighth (putting them at 4 for the game) and the Royals loaded the bases with nobody out. Patek brought in a run with a sacrifice fly. But that would be all they would get.
The highest scoring team in the American League was held to just 5 runs in the 2 game series. And still won both games.
