2037 Reliever of the Year Award
Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Lawton:
At the young age of only 23, Cal Lawton has been named the Delaware Conference Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2037.
The future appears bright for the Milford Clippers relief ace, who captured the award with 39 saves in 73 relief appearances, 96 strikeouts in 82.1 innings and a record of 6-4 to go with his 1.75 ERA.
Jason Lancaster of the Lewes Braves finished second in voting, while Sung-il Kwon of the Newark Millers finished third.
MV Conf Hands Out Reliever of the Year Award:
Cullen Wilder said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 24 years old.
But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Annapolis Admirals rising star has won the MarVa Conference Reliever of the Year Award for 2037.
He captured the award on the strength of his 1.57 ERA over 74.1 innings. He also had 38 saves in 63 relief appearances, 87 strikeouts and only 17 walks.
Miguel Angel González of the Norfolk Cavaliers finished second in voting, while Travis Abadee of the Chesapeake Blue Crabs finished third.
-------------------
Our closer Loeffler had an off year compared to his award winning year last season. Both pitchers are first time winners and in the MarVa Conference Miguel Angel Gonzalez finished second, and has not won the award for the past 2 seasons, after winning it 5 of the first 7 years this award has been given out.
Congrats to the new winners, both young enough that they could have many more of these awards on their shelf by the time they call it quits.
