Post-Race Analysis: 2016 Germany(6/16)
Perfect driving, perfect pit stop strategy as we got the most out of the medium tyre, and perfect execution on the intermediate tyre, getting track position after the second stop and rolling with it till the end.
Vidal defended P11 like a lion against the two Rezzato Corsa's... but we did not get the point we really need. We right now are P9 in the standings because... our name starts with L and theirs with T, aka we now lead Thornton by the slimmest of margins, positions below P10 and some voodoo magic calculations.
The weight stripping tactic will be used again and again going forward as we had no reason to repair anything in Vidal's car and the performance showed on track.
Good news, Mr. Henderson, the owner of this circus, was very happy with the performance and called me after the race to congratulate us. Big mistake by him as I managed to coax $2.5M of additional funds out of him... He wasn't happy, but we need every bit we can get.
Development Report:
The new and exciting engine will be ready before South Africa. If it is an upgrade, a waste of time, or even illegal. I don't now. What we design after that... Well, South Africa is predicted to be sunny and dry, so no reasons to put alot of eggs into THAT basket.
We look at the British and Italian GP in July and at the start of August as there is a non-zero chance of rain there. Rear wing seems to be the part of choice and there is ALOT of ground we need to gain there.
