SP Carlos Vera making his MLB debut allowed 1 run on 6 hits with4 BB's and 6 Ks over 6.2 innings and left the game with the lead. RHPChris Muckenfuss allowed 4 hits while facing just 7 hitters and getshis 1st blown save. LHP Dave Marland (1-2) allowed 1 run on 2 hitsand gave up 2 walks in the loss. The Expos had just 5 hits, allsingles.
