DBL News: First-Year Player Draft:
For the newcomer to professional baseball, today's amateur draft is a rite of passage. Every young player in the country is filtered through the draft pool, assessed, reassessed, scrutinized and run through several mock drafts even before they get to the real thing. But on draft day, once you've been picked, you have a shot to do what so few men in history have done, become a DELMARVA Baseball League ballplayer. Harpers Ferry, Harrington, Salisbury, Ocean City and Cape May will have the first five picks. The top ten players, as rated by BNN, are:

1. Crisp Klin, 21 year-old RHP out of college.
2. Ron Brown, 19 year-old LHP out of high-school.
3. José Díaz, 21 year-old LHP out of college.
4. Jeremiah Christensen, 21 year-old RHP out of college.
5. José Águila, 20 year-old CF out of college.
6. Raleigh Haynes, 21 year-old RHP out of college.
7. Kiyomasu Kono, 19 year-old CF out of college.
8. Jim Shelton, 22 year-old SS out of college.
9. Michael Jones, 21 year-old RHP out of college.
10. Brent West, 21 year-old CF out of college.

These ballclubs will have the first five choices: Harpers Ferr Raiders, Harrington Ponies, Salisbury Ports, Ocean City Tourists and the Cape May Beacons.

The Cannons will pick 21st in the first round, no-picks in the second round, 25th pick in the third round and 14th and 22nd in the fourth.

Here is a look at the past #1's, there is a lot of talent there. Jorge Moran fell just short of the Hall-of-Fame vote this year, but he should be a lock next.
