The Rangers could actually win a series against Baltimore as they host the Orioles in the final game of the series.

The Orioles placed LF Don Baylor on the DL with a torn quad. He is expected to miss four weeks.

Padres LF Leron Lee will miss the rest of the season due to suffering a broken bone in his elbow.

The Rangers traded 1B Don Mincher to the Red Sox for SP Mike Garman.

Goglewski only gave up one hit in the first three innings but May didn't even give up that many hits.

The scoreless tie was finally broken in the top of the eighth when Bumbry came through with an RBI single. Grich then brought Bumbry home with his own RBI single. With runners at the corners and one out, Goglewski was pulled and in came Paul Lindblad to pitch. Robinson then drove in his 50th run of the season as he, too, hit an RBI single.

Meanwhile, May, making his first ever start for the Orioles, finished off the complete game shutout.
