After losing three straight at home against the worst team in baseball, the Rangers now host the team with the best record in the AL as the Orioles visit Texas for three games. The Rangers are 1-8 against Baltimore and have lost 6 straight in the season series. The Orioles are riding a 12 game winning streak.

The first run of the game comes in the top of the first when Bumbry is awarded home plate after a balk is called on Broberg.

Harrah got a single in the bottom of the third to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. Harris then tied the game with a sac fly RBI.

After three: Baltimore 1 Texas 1.

Powell led off the fourth with a single to record his 100th hit of the season.

Broberg struck out Etchebarren in the fifth to reach 80 K on the season.

Grich led off the sixth with a home run to put the Orioles back on top.

After six: Baltimore 2 Texas 1.

The Orioles lead increased in the seventh when Rettenmund came up with an RBI single.

The Rangers got that run back in the bottom of the seventh with a Burroughs sac fly RBI. Baltimore then pulled Palmer and brought in Bob Reynolds to get the final out of the inning.

Grant Jackson then took over pitching duties for the Orioles in the eighth.

Baltimore had a runner on second and one out in the ninth when the Rangers pulled Broberg and brought in Paul Lindblad. Grich then added an RBI single to put the Orioles up by two again as the Rangers would lose their fourth straight.

Final score: Baltimore 4 Texas 2.
