You say unfortunate, I say game-breaking. I don't start multiple new games because there's only so much time in my day and I like to make it as far as possible. It's clear that these achievements and seasons are saved *somewhere*, so why not sync all of this?

There are a few problems with that:
1. You may have earned that achievement while logged in to another account, so if we went to give retroactive credit, then it could lead to other forms of cheating.
2. We would have to check every time you load the game that the achievement was logged, so that extra overhead may be a problem.
3. We want to prevent double-counting of achievements. We have put in extra measures to prevent that, but if you allow retroactive claiming of achievements that adds another level of complexity.
4. There are some details that we pass to the server that are only available the moment that an achievement is achieved. If we wanted to give retroactive credit, so we would have to change things to store extra details each time you get an achievement.
We'll certainly take this under consideration as we move forward, but as it currently stands, you must be logged in to get credit for achievements and season scores. Also keep in mind that this is the first iteration - we want to be sure the core details are solid first, and as we move forward, we will revise and update things.
