If you simply want a AAA league, but don't want to use historical minors, make sure to check the box for AAA. It's the second screen that appears when using the historical wizard. A fictional AAA league will be created(you can always edit team locations and names) in the exact form of the MLB--example 1950 will have 2 subleagues of 8.
