JULY 13, 1972
Ah, the miserable Cleveland Indians. Texas will host Cleveland for 4 games beginning tonight. The Indians have lost 11 in a row. If you doubled Cleveland's win total, the Indians would still be 10 games below .500.
A trade rumor has 1B Tommy Davis allegedly leaving the Cubs.
An actual trade has taken place. The Dodgers have sent C Joe Ferguson to Cleveland in exchange for SP Ray Lamb and SS Jack Heidemann.

Hard to imagine how the Rangers have been able to dominate this season series with the matchups on paper always leaning Cleveland's way.
Burroughs got an RBI in the first on a groundball out. Howard then followed up with a 2 run homer as Texas got a 3 run first.
Chambliss led off the second with a double, but injured himself and had to leave the game. And the Indians could not bring the runner home.
Lowenstein put Cleveland on the board in the third with an RBI double.
Howard answered in the bottom of the third with a 3 run homer.
After three: Texas 6 Cleveland 1.
The Indians went to the bullpen in the fourth and brought out Dick Baney.
After six: Texas 6 Cleveland 1.
Johnson got an RBI single in the top of the seventh. His 10th of the season. He also stole his first base of the year. Lowenstein then hit a 2 run homer. Kurt Bevacqua added an RBI double to make it a one run game.
Tom Hilgendorf took the mound for the Indians in the bottom of the seventh.
With one out in the top of the eighth, Horacio Pina replaced Bosman. And he closed it out to get the save.
Final score: Texas 6 Cleveland 5.
