Agreed. But I don't think showboating is being disrespectful to the opponent. When you get in the opponent's face, insult him, make fun of him, that's disrespectful. But being outlandish in celebrating just makes the boaster look stupid. I don't look at enough hockey to be able to say for a certainty. But the showoff things I've seen Subban do would be labeled typical celebrating in other sports.

The thing is, the NHL needs some individuality. I don't know why they bother to interview the stars. You could pick any player on any roster & get the same quote. Just in different accents.
