DBL News: The Hall of Fame Voting Begins: Voting is now available for 2037 Hall of Fame. Who will be immortalized this year as one of the best players of yesterday.
This is an interesting ballot, since there are only 13 players on it. I thought by now the ballot would be growing, but it seems to keep shrinking. I am not sure if the smaller ballot will help the likes of Mike Banks (71.1%, 3rd Year) and Jorge Moran (73.3%, 2nd year) or help.
One thing that will hurt Moran is the addition of two SP Pedro "Hack" Rivera and Cornell "Wildcat" Pearson. Moran has more W's than both of the aforementioned pitchers, but Pearson has 3 Golden Arms vs just 1 of Moran, and Rivera has 2935 K's verses the 2382 of Moran. Moran, however, was one of the games best lefty's, despite only winning 1 Golden Arm vs the 3 that lefty Matt Hollis won.
This is going to be a tough ballot. I like Hollis and he was a star for my team back in the day, but maybe he just doesn't have enough. Especially with more quality players coming around.
