a coach is a different entry, so it's just making a coachid and adding the players name and some link, since you can go to coach profile page or player page from within each (one of the two at least..)
pretty sure they have to be retired for the option to be made. since it's technically a different entity in the game, you could make a coach and name them the same and it really isn't much different, except the generation of ratings might not be as kind when simply 1 random coach created. then just make sure to rename their coach profile if they happen to become one later.
even though the game provides a quick little link to switch between, it's exclusive info... may even still have that link after you rename them, lol... you could look into what's exported and if it's a column of data for players, replace the coach id with the one you created... it would link to your coach after that, if possible. plausible, but i don't know what's there by rote.
