Arbitration hearings were held yesterday and the results were announced today. We had five players go to a hearing. We won 3 and lost 2. CF Javy Fernandez will make $750K. He was asking for $1.25 mil. RF Lee Kowalski will make $3.6 mil. He was asking for $4.674 mil. C Mark Marker will make $6.5 mil. He was asking for $8.75 mil. P Larry Castillo will make $1,397,500. We offered $1.2 mil. 1B Antonio Mata will make $15,812,500. We offered $12.6 mil. That one hurts....

Free Agents will file tomorrow and we will lose the following players, who we have not been offered a contract: SP Rick Civetti, SP Jeff Cox, SP Troy Delia, SP Jack Larson, C John McIvor, 1B Roger Aguilar, 2B Mike Campell, 2B Mike Cavallaro, SS Ivan Lopez, SS Jose Lucca, LF Dick McCay and RF Lebron Williams.
