Friday the 13th will be unlucky for someone....
We begin our final road trip of the season, a short one, with 3 games over the weekend in Los Angeles against manager Gary Lovell (39) and his Dodgers. They just split 4 games here with the Cardinals. We are 7-4 against them on the season and split 2 games here the last time we met them, August 26-27. They are 16th (last) in scoring in the NL with 3.9 runs per game (Portland is #11 with 4.0). He have hit 1 more home run than they have in 3 fewer games. We are the bottom two offenses in the league in hitting home runs. They are 4th in fewest runs allowed with 4.1 per game (Portland is #2 with 3.7). Their bullpen has a 3.45 ERA, 3rd best in the NL behind Portland and San Diego.
Portland Beavers (85-58 .594 in 1st place in the NL West) at
Los Angeles Dodgers (65-81 .445 21.5 GB in 7th place in the NL West)
Phil McPhie, Por (27 R 8-3 2.85 7.9-0.4-1.6-6.2 H/9-HR/9-BB/9-K/9) vs Chris Parris, LAN (31 R 7-10 3.59 8.5-1.1-2.4-5.8)
Parris is 2-0 against us and pitched very well in both games.
Since Danny Hernandez set a new team record for RBIs in a season, he has gone 5 games in a row without any.
