Mostly, things will vary if you use relative ratings, as the relative calculation essentially happens after the fact. It's possible that essentially the league "average" shifted between when the report was filed and when you view the profile, which can cause things to shift slightly.

I find that the difference occurs often. In fact, when I am on the trade screen, I often have players that are listed as one-star players that, when I go into the player's scouting report, my scout actually gives them three, four, or even five stars. And, yes, I'm looking at my scout ratings, not the scouting association ratings, when I'm on the trade screen. I have no idea which is accurate, and it makes it impossible to judge trades without going into commissioner mode and looking at the numbers in editor. This is time consuming, and it defeats the fun of having scouting inaccuracies. I really hope y'all get this fixed.

Added: I cannot even really play the game like this. I just thought I had a trade where I would give up a decent veteran and poor prospect for a very good prospect who had 4.5 stars on the trade screen. I click on the 4.5-star prospect's player profile and, lo and behold, my scout actually has him at 2 stars. Trading and building a team are my favorite parts of this game, and this problem makes them unworkable.
