GM Notes:
As the trade deal looms (10 days away) I have to figure out if I am going to make any moves or not. I am leaning towards the not part of it all, since the team has been playing so well since Patterson took over. This might be the best team we can put out there.
It is nice to Phil Davis has found a home in the leadoff slot. I have to say I am excited to have a base threat back on the roster. It has been a while since I did. In 2030-2032 I had 3 players with over 30 steals. I need that back, that will help us score more runs and leave less runners on the bags. Runs is what we need.
It is nice to see the pitching staff starting to come together. I am thinking about sending John Robertson down to AAA (1-1 9.69 in 3 starts in July) and bring up a Juan Cuesta. He may be our best bet. Between Cuesta and Pearl down in AAA, we have two solid young bloods who just need to develop a little more.
I am quite excited right now, such a difference from when the season began. It is hard to believe that just a few weeks ago I was ready to blow things up and then here I am making deals to make this team better. We are doing well, we are in a good place. One more week of this roster and then I will talk to our assistant GM and see if we should make any deals (sell or buy, not sure yet).
This week is going to be tough, as we play 2-games against the Cardinals and the Senators, both of them are division leaders. It might be a big tell-tale week. We don't want to fall too far behind and our schedule isn't going to get any easier... It will be nice to see Ji, Higashi and Shepherd go up against top teams. Let just hope we are up for the challenge.
