Many Thanks to Rainmaker and Buster Narum for those great late career photos of Curt Simmons.
Simmons Trivia: Curt made three NL all-star teams (1952, 1953, 1957), but in his highest win seasons of 1964 (18) and 1950 (17) he was not selected as an all-star.
Of players who made their MLB debuts in the 1940s Curt and Smokey Burgess were the last remaining active players, with each playing their final game on the same day. (10/1/67).
There is a span of 20 years and 3 days between Simmons' major leagues debut at 18 on September 28, 1947 with the Phillies and his final game of October 1, 1967 with the Angels at age 38.
