Forgive me as this is a 3 part questionnaire

So i just started a Standard game and loaded all the leagues including the WCB/WBC. I figured out that i can control both the USA team and the Seattle Mariners which is pretty cool. If i don't choose to control the USA team, how does it determine who the coach will be? Reputation? Is it possible the game can ask retired Managers to coach the team?

Because the game starts on March 7th do i not get to go through the roster selection phase? Do i have to change the start of the Tournament or the start of the Roster selection date in order to go through the process of selecting people?

Also i did a test run so i could watch the games and i noticed that they didn't show up in the schedule as an option to watch until the 3rd game. So in my case Puerto Rico was already 2-0 before i could actually see a box score. Is this normal? I tried to drop the league screen to WBC but i didn't see it until the 3rd game.
