One thing I think I noticed is that the Login/Register menu for challenge mode does not appear unless I'm in Safe Mode. Basically I don't think I've seen it during the crashes in normal mode.
Not absolutely 100% sure and won't be able to check until this evening. I left for work so I'm now limited to accessing the computer from there. I booted it in Safe Mode with Networking so I'll have access, but I can only reboot normally once to get back in. If I reboot in Safe Mode I won't have access until I get back to it.
