Frank Schulte of the Chicago Cubs had an enormous week at the plate and today was voted the Player of the Week by the National League. "Wildfire" batted .565 (13-for-23) with 1 home run and 7 RBIs. This year Schulte is hitting .272 with 124 hits, 22 home runs, 74 RBIs and has scored 60 runs.
His lightning swing and solid bat took the American League by storm. All week Lou Gehrig of the New York Yankees stunned opponents with an electrifying performance to capture the American League Player of the Week honors. The talented first baseman sparked his team by hitting .389 with 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and 4 runs scored. So far this season Gehrig has hit .295 with 35 home runs, 101 RBIs and and scored 84 times.
