Perhaps it's just a coincidence, but
13 actually has been kind of a jinxed or cursed number for the Yanks over the years. Among my choices here was one of the most infamous cheaters in MLB history, or a murderer...oh, I'm sorry he was acquitted on the DUI/manslaughter charge, silly me. He was only convicted for DUI. Both shall remain nameless.
At any rate, here's
Mike Pagliarulo, a good player and (gasp!) solid citizen. His career got off to pretty fast start, and it looked like he would be a perennial 30+ HR threat and play solid D for the Yanks at thirdbase for years. While he fell a mite short of those lofty expectations, at least it isn't an embarrassment to post his name and picture here, as it would be with those other two clowns.
