Looks like the best way to create a game world with only tournaments taking the spotlight is to create one with a single league you can ignore/play through fast to get to a tournament.
I assume tournaments are a option with custom and historical too correct?
Would be nice to see just a "Tournament mode you can pull teams from saved games from to create.
