Montreal will select 27th in this years draft. We need a goal scorer and a power play quarterback on defense.
1st round, 27th overall. Montreal selects 18 year old RW
John Deorla. The 6'4" Power forward from North Cowichan, BC. The scouts say the strongest part of his game is goal scoring. In 3 seasons with the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL, he had 114 goals and 216 points with 521 PIMs in 215 WHL games. He had 47 goals in 1982-83 and 39 goals in 1983-84.
2nd round, 57th overall. Montreal selects 18 year old RD
Jan Navratil. The 5'11" Offensive defenseman from Ostrava, CZE. The scouts say the strongest part of his game is playmaking ability. In 2 seasons with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL he had 32 goals and 135 points with 129 PIMs in 129 QMJHL games. He had 89 points in the 1982-83 season.
3rd round, 87th overall. Montreal selects 18 year old C
Albert Kolarik. The 5'11" Offensive forward is from Karlovy Vay, CZE. The scouts say the strongest part of his game is his playmaking ability. In 1 season with the Sarnia Sting of the OHL he had 26 goals and 58 points with 118 PIMs in 68 games.
4th round, 117th overall. Montreal selects 18 year old LD
Jaroslav Lips. The 6'0" Defensive defenseman is from Zabreh, CZE. The scouts say the strongest part of his game is his physical play. In 3 seasons in the QMJHL he had 8 goals with 34 points and 117 PIMs in 137 games.
5th round, 147th overall. Montreal selects 18 year old RW
Jordan Gingras. The 6'1" Two-Way forward is from Saint-Hyacinthe, QC. The scouts say the strongest part of his game is his physical play. In 2 seasons with the Barrie Colts of the OHL he had 28 goals and 58 points with 641 PIMs in 134 games.
6th round, 177th overall. Montreal selects 18 year old RD
Colin Nicolson. The 6'5" Defensive defenseman is from Calgary, AB. The scouts say the strongest part of his game is his intangibles. In 2 seasons with the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL he had 30 goals and 103 points with 164 PIMs in 136 games.
7th round, 207th overall. Montreal selects 18 year old LW
Evan Olsen. The 6'3" Two-Way forward is from Grimsby, ON. The scouts say the strongest part of his game is his intangibles. In 2 seasons with the Charlottetown Islanders of the QMJHL he had 27 goals and 73 points with 61 PIMs in 120 games.
