DiMaggio hits 59 HRs in 61 games

In my fictional National Baseball League, I decided to import Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio into the 1936 draft pool for kicks and giggles. Williams was selected first overall by the Washington Senators and reported to the single A Santa Ana Swordfish. The Chicago Captains passed on Dimaggio (opting instead to a take a fictional pitcher) before the Baltimore Orioles snatched him up third overall. Dimaggio reported immediately to the big league team and proceeded to tear up the Federal League. In just 61 games, he hit 59 home runs!!!That means that he almost hit a home run in every single game. That is incredible!!! I wonder if I did anything wrong when I imported him into the league. I unchecked the box that said “Keep selected season’s statistics in player career stats” (the selected season was 1936). I based current ratings on real stats and based potential ratings on peak seasons of career. Keep in mind that the ratings are hidden from me because I play stats only. As far as my league settings, nothing would cause DiMaggio's torrential half-season. League strategy, AI, and stats modifiers are automatically re calculated every season. I did not edit Joltin' Joe besides changing his facegen. Any thoughts? I certainly have never seen anything like it before.
