it "could" mean that.

there are many cuases of what you are seeing - one of which is simply scouting inaccuracy.

once a player is fully developed and not aged, it's not unusual for current rating to be > potential. the opposite can happen too. it may mean he's in decline, it could be bad scouting, it could be a correction in scouting, it could be ... ... ... ..' -- oh it could be due to a recent increase in potential - but since it's still TCR you can predict from it very well - positively or negatively.

it's obviously not as good of a sign as current > potential, but pot>cur isn't too big of a deal unless other factors also point toward an approaching problem. alone, it doesn't mean anything is going to happen with any amount of certainty. if they are in their 20's i wouldn't even bat an eye unless it was a 'larger' dip in a rating. if in their early 20's i'm assuming it's a scouting correction or unmet potential naturally falling down toward current ability.

so, use other factors that make sense to determine what's happening - age, performance etc...

it's not unusual for a small dip to occur, then remain constant for a long time after that.... it's also not unusual for it to turn into a downward spiral. so, don't assume anything. just protect yourself if they are old -- get rid of them A.S.A.g.d.m.f'n.P.
