Exactly. The biggest reason I play OOTP more than any other game is the immersion I have with my fictional league. I don't even "play" as a team, just create and expand on the world I have and keep detailed stats and history offline. Promotion/relegation is something I've considered adding and to now have that option to do it non-manually is awesome. Tournaments too -creating Champions Leagues and National Tournaments is a big undertaking right now. These are just huge adds for purely fictional players.

Correct. That's one reason among many - the distribution of wealth among MLB teams to AAA teams is another. It's just not the way North America does their sports. To be honest, in real life, I like the way we do it better than Europe. But for the purposes of the game where I have no real loyalty to a team but to the universe, it's a lot more fun.
