I voted for Alouettes before I looked that up! Still, I like the sound of the word and it's definitely Montreal French.
"Expos" is a reference to the Expo 67 World's Fair which is kind of a lame thing to name a team after, especially considering it was 50 years ago. (Personally, it reminds me of how old I am getting, because I was there!  )
So, go Alouettes! And yes, their uniforms are cool. |
Actually, the Alouettes name also refers to the first French-Canadian squadron of the RCAF (
425 Tactical Fighter Squadron), so it's still pretty bad ass, I think.
