September 4: RF Charlie Reshard of Philadelphia hit 2 home runs at home versus Arizona. He drew 2 walks, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs. The Phillies won, 13 to 5.
September 4: C Howard Morrell of Houston hit 2 home runs at home versus Atlanta. He drew a walk, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBIs. The Astros won, 9 to 3.
September 4: C Tony Rojas of Milwaukee hit 2 home runs at home versus Boston. He had 3 hits. The Brewers lost, 6 to 3.

September 9: RF/LF Vern Deccio of New York (A) hit 2 home runs at Toronto. He hit a Grand Slam. He had 4 hits and a walk, scored 3 runs and had 7 RBIs to tie the American League 21st century record. The Yankees won, 10 to 5.

Random Fact of the Week: We need hitters! And it does not look like there will be much to choose from in the free agent class this off-season. No point in signing old farts when we are trying to build up from the basement and none of the younger players look like the types of fellas I want on the team. The good hitters cannot field and most are not pleasant personalities. I absolutely HAVE to upgrade our infield, though, one way or another!
