I have followed these instructions (cleared everything).
Still picks up older players.
Just tested a league starting in 2001. Cleared everything. Season plays out. Mo Vaughn is signed as an FA by Cincy after the season. All his stats are picked up (1989-2001) even though I cleared everything.
He is the leader in many stat categories.
