Like what if I took starting pitching the 1st 3 rounds and built a monster staff and fill out the lineup with the best of the left overs?
In fact just talking about it makes me want to do it again.. maybe the top 4 power hitters I can get in the first 4 rounds?

When I start a fictional league I start without any history and do a Fantasy Draft.
I usually do exactly that, going after front-line starters in the first 3 rounds, then add a shutdown closer and then pick hitters.
Once all premium players are gone I draft for the future and load my team with prospects ... but like you, I normally don't go past Round 50 unless there still are interesting players available. Once there are no players left that i
really have to have on my team, I let the AI do the rest.
