Time to go through what is currently a 4 man bullpen.
#22 Jake Junis is my only middle reliever at the moment, and he's still recovering from a partially torn collateral ligament, though he'll be ready in plenty of time for the beginning of the season. I wanted to put him in the rotation, as he's been a starter in the minors since he was drafted in round 29 in 2011, but I simply don't have enough confidence in his stuff. He did well in A+ last year, but then was called up to AA and made 3 starts for us, putting up an 0-2 record and a 7.94 ERA before getting hurt and missing the second half of the season. If one of my starters isn't doing well I still might give him a shot, but for now he'll be in the bullpen.
My first setup guy is #18, Mark Peterson, who is 26-years-old. A career minor leaguer who put up a 5.10 ERA in 50 relief appearances last year. Look for him to come up with similar figures this season.
#57 Matthew Murray didn't have a good year here last year, but I have no problem giving him another shot as our setup man considering his ratings. He was drafted in the 10th round in 2011, but now at 27 years of age it's clear he's not going to pan out. He has decent pitches though, so he'll be good minor league depth for the Royals organization. A sparring partner for guys with more potential.
#17 Sam Selman will be the closer for the Naturals, as he was last season, when he had 32 saves and a 2.52 ERA. The 26-year-old Austin, Texas native was a 2nd round pick in 2009. He's 26 now, and he won't be as good as the Royals hoped when they drafted him, but he did win a pitcher of the month award in August. I expect him to have a good year, could even get called up to AAA. The weakest part of his game is his control. Once he improves that he should definitely be ready to compete in AAA.
