McWilliams HOF News
Apparently, the McWilliams photography archive that he has passed along to the Baseball Hall of Fame is about to go through a major growth spurt.
As we've come to know, McWilliams donated over 10,000 images to the Hall in 2010, and they have since been catalogued and made available for sale as reproductions. John Horne, the curator of Topps' photo archive, has told several people including yours truly that the hope is that Topps, with the help of an outside contractor, will have lower resolution images of the McWilliams Archive posted on their web site sometime in 2017.
But that's old news. This tease of major doings was at the end of a profile of McWilliams that was posted on the SABR site on December 23:
What’s next for Doug?
I still have 15,000 [negatives] to send [to the Hall of Fame], 35 millimeter and digital and keeps me busy, keeps me alive, keeps me going. I’ve got plenty to do!
