Tegucigalpa Beasts (5-8) @ Managua Sabres (3-10)
A three game series with our local rival Tegucigalpa starts our long homestand. Last week was a rough one for the Beasts as they only won a game in a home series against Tijuana and another against divisional opponent San Jose. While they have struggled to start the season, they are a good team that is capable of killing us.
Game 14 -
TEG 3 @ MAN 1
WP - Jerry Ortiz (2-1)
LP - Jorge Rodriguez (0-2)
SV - Rodolfo Covarrubias (1)
Another great offensive showing from the Sabres today.

We have yet to score more than three runs in our first 14 games. That's insane to me. Sosa got an RBI double in the 3rd but that was really it. Every game we've played this year has been close. We aren't getting blown out, these are close games. Our so called future is hitting .063 ans the rest of the lineup isn't hitting much better. There's no way this can last right?
Game 15 -
TEG 4 @ MAN 2
WP - Miguel Carmona (1-0)
LP - Danny Luna (0-4)
SV - Rodolfo Covarrubias (2)
Another good start from Danny Luna, another close loss. The bullpen has been good and so has the defense. Next game please.
Game 16 -
TEG 1 @ MAN 3
WP - Josh Parks (1-1)
LP - David Zambrano (0-3)
SV - Luis Fuentes (1)
Finally! Parks went 7 innings, giving up six hits and one earned run! Chalmers hit a big two run shot in the 3rd and we never looked back with Parks dominating and our bullpen holding the lead. Nice win and this should give us some motivation to do well against Veracruz tomorrow.
We should have won another game there, especially at home against a big rival, but oh well. I need this offense to score some runs here and then maybe I'll feel better.
Veracruz Golden Knights (10-6) @ Managua Sabres (4-12)
Veracruz is on a two game losing streak after a hard fought series against the Diablos but now they travel from Mexico City to Managua to face the worst team in the CBL. I'm hoping to pull off a surprise or two here but I doubt it will happen.
Game 17-
VER 3 @ MAN 4
WP - Danny Ortiz (1-0)
LP - Eddie Medina (2-1)
SV - Karsten Klomp (1)
WE SCORED MORE THAN THREE RUNS! WOW. So after 17 games we finally get some kind of production from our lineup. Chalmers went 2-4 contributing with a big three run homer to take the lead for good. New acquisition Danny Ortiz had two solid innings and he has yet to give up a run in relief. Kijana didn't look good and only lasted 5 innings with 3 earned runs. Just a great way to start the series.
Game 18 -
VER 11 @ MAN 5
WP - Jonathan Corral (2-0)
LP - Francisco Torreblanca (2-2)
So there goes Torreblanca's great start. 5 innings, 8 hits, 8 earned runs. The bullpen didn't help much with Millares giving up three runs while getting one out. The offense played well but not well enough to win. Heatley, Godoy and Alex Hernandez all went deep. A nine run sixth inning ended our chances to win but we have one more game.
Game 19 -
VER 3 @ MAN 0
WP - Danny Avilles (2-3)
LP - Jorge Rodriguez (0-3)
SV - Santiago Suarez (7)
Avilles just flat out dominated us tonight. 8 innings and five hits with no earned runs. Jorge wasn't bad tonight but he wasn't anything great. Godoy went 2-4 today, cementing him as the only hitter on this team that can actually play.
So with that loss we end a tough series with Veracruz. After such an optimistic start, our pitching blew up in the second game and our offense fell apart in the series finale. One of my decisions to start next week is to replace current starter in right field, Antonio Hernandez, with 20 year old Cole Parker. Parker has been a decent bat when pinch hitting and Hernandez has been awful. In 12 games he's hitting .204 with two doubles and a home run. We will see how Parker can produce for this awful lineup.
WEEK TOTAL (2-4)
OVERALL RECORD (5-14)
Tough week for us but we move on. An off day tomorrow and then we have Mexico City coming to town. After a three game series with them, we see Bogota again, but this time on our home turf. We stay at 23rd in the weekly power rankings as Kingston has a real bad week and drop down to 5-14. We aren't the worst anymore! Not for now at least
The ML North is being controlled by the Tijuana Flames. They are on a 10 game winning streak right now in a real tough division. The ML South is a mess though. Every team is within two games of each other except... you guessed it, us.
