Monday Morning Report

AL Player of the Week - Juan Cruz, lf, Tampa Bay (33 R .302/.356/.505) Had 10 hits with 2 2B, 2 HR, 7 R and 6 RBI in 6 G
NL Player of the Week - Marv Helton, 1b, Pittsburgh (25 L .459/.510/.779) Had 17 hits with 3 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 4 BB, 6 R, and 9 RBI in 6 G He will be the Player of the Month with video game numbers for May....

May 21: 3B Mike Huggins of New York (A) hit 1 home runs at Toronto. His second came with 1 out and a man on base in the top of the 10th. He had 4 RBIs. The Yankees won, 6 to 5, in 10 innings. The Yankee pitchers walked 10 and only struck out 2.
May 22: 2B Hal Grafton of Cincinnati had 7 RBIs at home versus Atlanta. He had 3 hits with a double and a home run and drew a walk. The Reds won, 17 to 8.
May 22: Kansas City won at Milwaukee, 8 to 7, in 17 innings. The Brewers scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to force extra innings. each team scored a run in both the 12th and 16th innings. The Royals out-hit the Brewers, 20 to 10.
May 24: LF Bradley Hibbert of Montreal hit 2 home runs at home versus San Francisco. He had 3 hits. The Expos won, 4 to 1.
May 24: 1B Marv Helton of Pittsburgh hit 2 home runs at Colorado. he had 4 hits and a walk, scored 3 runs and had 6 RBIs. The Pirates won, 15 to 5. Helton is now batting an amazing .447 on the season with 43 RBI in 44 G. 1.249 OPS!!
May 24: RHP Mark McCormick of Washington pitched a 3-hit shutout at Kansas City. He walked 4 and struck out 3. He is now 3-4 with a 1.98 ERA. He was the Senators' 10th pick in the Expansion Draft. That's one we messed up on there. The Senators won, 6 to 0.
May 25: Baltimore scored 4 times in the bottom of the 9th to beat Los Angeles (A), 5 to 4. SS Jeff O'Brien hit a 2-out, 3-run double to win the game.
May 27: SS Dick Hedrick of Pittsburgh hit 2 home runs at Colorado. He hit a double and had 6 RBIs. The Pirates won, 10 to 2.
May 27: RF John Chandler of Kansas City hit 2 home runs at home versus Washington. He had 4 hits and 6 RBIs. The Royals won, 10 to 4.
