Reyes up; Bowman down as Cards shake up rotation
The St. Louis Cardinals have called up right-handed starting pitcher Alex Reyes from Triple-A Memphis.
He will take over the No. 4 spot in their rotation, with Adam Wainwright moving to the bullpen.
Right-handed reliever Matt Bowman has been sent to Memphis.
Reyes is 3-0 in five starts for the Redbirds with an ERA of 2.12.
Wainwright has been horrific in his role as the team's No. 4 starter, going 0-3 in six starts with an ERA of 8.48.
Bowman has struggled mightily in 2018 after a strong 2017 season in the St. Louis pen. He has gotten into 16 games, going 0-1 with an ERA of 6.75
