Thad Tillotson 1961
Back when I was 8 years old it was absolutely stupefying to me that a Yankees' rookie pitcher named Thad Tillotson had not even gotten to spring training with another team since way back in the middle ages - 1961! Topps shot Tillotson then with the team which signed him, the Dodgers. Tillotson's main claim to fame in New York was as the batter in one of the most infamous Red Sox-Yankee brawls ever. He was hit by a Jim Lonborg pitch, shouted a retaliatory threat from first base, and the brawls and bullpens emptied and the cops had to come onto the field to break it up. Among the police, the brother of Boston third baseman Rico Petrocelli.
