Week 4
| Week 4 | | Tulsa vs Harlem | Feature Bout | | Rocky Marciano vs Chris Byrd | | The classic puncher vs boxer matchup will decide the match and the first two rounds show the strengths of both men as Marciano mauls Byrd in the opening stanza, before the latter bounces back to pepper the Rock with his jab, puffing his righr eye up in the 2nd. Byrd holds his own over the next 4 rounds, continuing to stick and move, with Marciano looking to pin him and work the body. In the 7th Rocky opens a cut over Byrd's left eye as they are engaged in some vicious in fighting. Byrd rallies, then takes an insane amount of punishment in the 9th, but manages to stay upright and both men are dog tired entering the final round, which is Byrd's first decisive round of the fight as we go the distance! | | | | | | | Marciano SD 10 Byrd - 98-92, 94-96, 97-94 | | | | | | | | | | | Match Summary | | | Points | | Tulsa | | Harlem | Tulsa | Harlem | | Phil Muscato | L - UD10 | Buster Douglas | 0 | 3 | | | Rocky Marciano | W - SD10 | Chris Byrd | 3 | 0 | | | Luan Krasniqi | L - MD10 | Mick Dooley | 0 | 3 | | | Georges Carpentier | W - KO7 | Add Warren | 4 | 0 | | | Jerry Quarry | W - UD10 | Bill Tate | 3 | 0 | | | Final Score | | | | | | | | Tulsa | 10 | | | | | | | Harlem | 6 | | | | | | | Dooley's upset of Krasniqi made in interesting,and the main event is a classic, though many are left wondering about the disparity in the scorecards, as Byrd may have revealed the key to beat Rocky. | | | | | | | | | | | | Next up - Feature Bout Dempsey vs Liston | | Deland | Record | Muckboys | Record | Ratings | | | Tim Witherspoon | 2-0-0 (0) | Gene Tunney | 0-1-1 (0) | 10-13 | | | Samuel Peter | 1-1-0 (1) | Ezzard Charles | 2-0-0 (2) | 6-11 | | | Jose Luis Garcia | 1-1-0 (1) | Jeff Merritt | 0-3-0 | 5-4 | | | Jack Dempsey | 2-0-0 (1) | Sonny Liston | 0-0-0 | 14-12 | | | Max Schmeling | 1-0-0 (1) | Tye Fields | 1-0-0 (0) | 11-3 | | | The hoped for matchup of Dempsey and Tunney is not to be, but both teams have their 3 biggest guns drawn and Jack will have his hands full with Sonny Liston, which will be the feature! | |
