After an off-season of retooling, the Racers are hoping this is the year they get over the hump. Last year, they lost in the Wild Card Series. AFTERMATH
Because I'm only playing off-seasons only, the regular season isn't on me. I can't make any moves, I just go into fan mode which is very difficult but makes for a more reward sim and I can play a lot faster that way.
Out of the chute, Dylan Clark and Huai-yi Ying were among the top hitters in baseball and by the end of April, the Racers sprinted to a 4 game lead in the NL East on the strength of their offensive powers.
The Racers ran away with the NL East, as predicted, we ended August with a 15 game lead in the division, leaving the battle there to determine who would play for a wild card. It's only the third division title in Racers franchise history dating back to 2117 when the team first moved to Indianapolis.
FINISH: 104-57, 1st place, NL East
PLAYOFFS: The top seed Racers swept the Chicago Blue Collars, two years removed from a title in the Division Series to setup a date with the West Virginia Alleghenies in the NLCS.
West Virgina has never won a title, dating back 36 seasons. But they were no match for the Racers and in the 353rd Kerouac Cup Series, the Eau Claire Paws, seeking their 10th title after a 58-year drought take on the Indiana Racers who won their first pennant in franchise history.
In a hard fought nine-game battle, the Racers knocked off the Paws and won their first title in club history.
