Real-life postponement rates for 2016
Some preliminary data for the 2016 season. The full data set will include postponement rate, average per game attendance, and average game length for most major pro baseball leagues. But for now, here are the postponement rates for MLB and the full-season affiliated minor leagues.
The order of the data is: total number of unplayed games (postponed+cancelled) out of total number of scheduled games (regularly scheduled+make up games).
MLB: 26 (24+2) out of 2454 (2430+24) = 1.06%
Mexican League: 45 (32+13) out of 936 (904+32) = 4.81%
International League: 42 (39+3) out of 1047 (1008+39) = 4.01%
Pacific Coast League: 53 (40+13) out of 1192 (1152+40) = 4.45%
Eastern League: 39 (33+6) out of 885 (852+33) = 4.41%
Southern League: 35 (31+4) out of 731 (700+31) = 4.79%
Texas League: 18 (18+1) out of 578 (560+18) = 3.11%
California League: 6 (6+0) out of 706 (700+6) = 0.85%
Carolina League: 43 (39+4) out of 599 (560+39) = 7.18%
Florida State League: 68 (44+24) out of 884 (840+44) = 7.69%
Midwest League: 48 (44+4) out of 1164 (1120+44) = 4.12%
South Atlantic League: 54 (49+5) out of 1029 (980+49) = 5.25%
