Regardless of what was said by the 'loyalists' in this thread thus far. I'm reposting a version of this so that more people can see it.

Just look at the previous thread. And the one for the 'update' before it. And the one before that.

Markus. Matt.

You are in the process of hurting the game's future. Sure, not for some people who will buy it, even if it is broken. Those people don't matter in a business sense, though, when it comes to growing your base.

The game's engine needs a LOT of work. There can be no argument to this. The roster logic / the in-game AI strategy logic / trade logic / free agent logic ... it ALL needs substantial work.

Look at the comments in the threads who aren't going to pre-order. That was me this year -- after purchasing the game for several consecutive years -- I didnt even buy it after noticing all the buggy updates. People can claim all they want that last year's version worked 'perfectly.' They are using rose-colored glasses. Last's years game had some 'Hotfixes' as well - but - it also still had allllll of the on-going roster logic / in-game AI logic / etc. When sales start to stagnate, or even fall, it will be even harder to catch back up.

The point being, from a business perspective:
What some members above say - who will defend the game ad nauseum - NEW buyers, who aren't already loyal like so many have been, will not come back to a game that doesn't work well.

Please, work on these issues. They are important in the long run because you need the retention rate of new customers to keep funding the development of the game.

I really want to play the game, again. As do so many people.

Think of the new people, as well. They won't come back like the loyalists if they buy the game for the first time and its a train wreck like this years has been.

A commuter above put it well and aids my point at the hindrance of his own: OOTP has a small crew with limited resources. Don't squander them. There is only so much time. Devote it to ensuring the game's engine is sound before adding bells and whistles to it.

A simpler game that works is better than a fancy game that doesn't work.

For the record: This is not to 'flame' the game. It is constructive criticism.
