OK....My idea is to eliminate the "overall AI rating from the from the front of the player profile page...and the "Overall evaluation based on AI".
The reason is simple...the user shouldn't know exactly what the AI's opinion of a player really is. You can get an idea in trade negotiations, but you shouldn't know exactly.
What you SHOULD know...is what your scout's overall opinion of a player is. As it stands (provided you leave "overall rating based on AI" UNCHECKED) this is what you get in the scouting report page. The problem is, when you go to the front page of the player profile, the rating is different for a myriad of reasons....the AI evaluation, position strength, ratings...etc. This should be eliminated.
What you should have as an overall ratings, is
1. The summary in the written report...we have that now.
2. eliminate stars and the current 20-80 overall ratings. Replace with a scout's overall opinion grade (not AI evaluation) based on the 20-80 scale, but in 5's. So if a player in the current game had a 47 as an overall rating....he could only have a 45 or 50. So the overall scale would be 20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55,60,65,70,75,80.
These ratings should be based on your scout's assessment of the individual grades of each tool. Some scout's may weigh power more than contact or defense over offense..et. These values could be assigned to the scouts by the general manager.
So if I instruct my scouts to value defense over contact for SS, the scout would put more weight into defense when determening a player's overall rating. So you'd be able to instruct to value different tools for different positions.
