Chadds Ford, Georgetown Agree to Trade
Chadds Ford, Georgetown Agree to Trade: You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Chadds Ford and Georgetown have made a swap with 31-year-old RF Dave Lewis, 29-year-old CF Martin Adams, 25-year-old minor league C Carlos Segura, 28-year-old minor league 2B Andy Rice, 25-year-old minor league LHP Ángel Delgado, a 3rd round draft pick and a 10th round draft pick being shipped to the Sixteens and in return the Cannons would get 28-year-old CF Lu-po-teh Men.
The Georgetown general manager said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Chadds Ford organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works.
During his career Adams is hitting .252 with a total of 30 home runs.

Yes I gave up too much, yes this was a bad deal, yes I get it! I had to make it! Why? Because just last week I got a nasty gram from our owner, Ralph Corbin, "reminding" of the budget concerns... Ugh... so I had shopped around and this was the best I could do... Overall losing the draft picks is what hurts the most, but without Martin and Lewis our defense will take a little hit. Then again, we know have $6M to spend! Maybe I can find a one-year-wonder... Just kidding. I am done, I will go with who I have.
This was a painful move, but I felt like it had to be done with Corbin breathing down my neck.
