I didn't say anything because I thought it was intentional...but looking back I don't know why I would have thought that either.

One way around this issue is after a player has passed through waivers, just use the "Remove Player from 40 Man Roster" button. The players is then removed from the 40 man roster and remains on the roster they were on in the first place, but are then no longer on the 40-man.
