Wildcard Round - 2033
Georgetown Takes The Wild Card: While it wasn't a complete mismatch, the Georgetown Sixteens showed themselves to be the superior team in the The Wild Card, downing the Milford Clippers 3-1.
"Nothing is ever easy in the DELMARVA Baseball League playoffs. Whether you're a favorite or an underdog, you can't take anyone lightly or you'll get burned," said Felipe Hernández, who was named series MVP after a standout offensive performance.
Georgetown won the final game by a 8-1 count at Clippers Ballpark to clinch its spot in the next round.
They will hope to once again rely on Hernández there, as he hit .375 with 3 home runs, 6 RBI 5 runs scored during the series.
The Georgetown Sixteens will play against the Lewes Braves in the next round. Lewes won their series against the Newark Millers 3 games to 1. The Conference Championship schedule will be announced after the The Wild Card finishes.

Cardinals Win The Wild Card: A 8-0 triumph at Ballpark of Richmond has wrapped up the The Wild Card for the Richmond Cardinals.

Including this sensation performance:
Cavaliers Kennedy Strikes out 17: Led by an outstanding performance from starter Ernie Kennedy, the Norfolk Cavaliers topped the Washington Senators today by a score of 7-1 at Caviliers Ballpark. The 28-year-old Kennedy brought his top game to the mound, striking out 17 batters while allowing 4 hits and giving up 2 walks.
"He made a lot of good pitches out there," Senators manager Bill Patterson said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes."
So far this season Kennedy has a 18-9 record, 33 starts, 260.1 innings, 258 strikeouts and a 2.66 ERA.
-----------
I really don't know how the Sixteens continue to win. They are without two starters (Chris Brock, Gonzalo Bustamante), their closer (Ramon Tirado) and two top hitters (Tom Brown, Blake Quirke). They just continue to find players to fill the holes. The Lewes/Sixteens series is one that should be a beat them up and knock them down series.
The only surprise was the Cardinals taking down the Admirals, but it wasn't a HUGE surprise. Both teams had their best seasons ever and now its time for the Cardinals to try to take down their old rival the Cavaliers. Should be a good series.
