Missing Player Frank "Yank" West 1894 Boston Beaneaters
I've located a photo of Frank "Yank" West who pitched for the 1894 Boston Beaneaters. It appeared in the July 7, 1907 Pittsburgh Press. It's quite a nice portrait of him in his Boston uniform.
I found the nickname Yank in his obituary which was in his HOF player file. That made all the difference, as a search of "Yank West" on newspapers.com located the photo in about 2 minutes, where I've spent the past few months fruitlessly digging on Frank West.
