GM Notes:
Manny Hernandez and Laz Tadiotto both came to me to tell me the clubhosue is out of hand. What the heck, I guess that is what losing does to you. I will have to target the slackers and get them out of here next season... one player who I know isn't the hardest worker out there is Carl Oulton and he is my best pitcher, so hmm...

We were also officially eliminated from the playoffs... then again I was pretty sure we were "eliminated" from the playoffs sometime in June. 4 years, no playoffs... the worst part of it all is we took a step back this season from last year. Not a big one, but still a young team, with talent, we should be moving forward!

One thing I am paying attention to as the end of the year comes to a close is which one of these "young" guy or guys is going to make a name for themselves to be put on the radar for 2034. Right now the big battle is going to be catcher, I have gone back and forth with a few guys this season, but the way Alton Howard is playing now and Patrick McGee played this season they may be the favorites for a roster in 2034.
Alton Howard: 8-22 / .364-0-1, 7 G
Patrick McGee: .261-13-36, 85 G
Donald Hampton: .135-1-3, 14 G
David Cornett: .261-0-2, 7 G

Cornett, McGee and Howard are all "high" on the leader ability, which is something you really want/need in a catcher. And all 3 of them are better defenders than Hampton. I am thinking about bringing Hampton and/or Cornett into spring to try to learn 1B. It might be nice to have them around. Hampton could use some more minor league seasoning, but the other 3 are ready to go.

To return to something I mentioned last week.. if I am here in 2034 trading Ryan Urbina is my #1 off-season priority. He is due a team high $6,500,000 and he it is obvious that he has a horrible work ethic and no ability to lead. If I am going to keep a 30-year-old around, who leads the team in salary he better offer something more than a 'low' work ethic and leader ability!

I just hope over the next 18-games we can put some W's on the board an end the season with a little momentum and our heads high. This has been a very long up and down year for us.

News:
Baltimore Barons: Lost OF Rafael Estrada for the rest of the season. He will be able to return to games just after the season ends, but the 19-year-old had a decent start to his career: .249-1-18 in 53 games.
New Castle Colonials: Will be with out 26-year-old SP Juan Durango for the rest of the season. Durango has a partially torn UCL and is expected to miss 4-months. He has put up impressive numbers this season: 17-7 2.64
Baltimore Barons: Lost OF Jose Silva for the season. The Barons will need to find a replacement of the oft-injured Silva, who is out for at least 4-weeks with a fractured rib. Over 96-games this season Silva hit .301-1-35
Norfolk Cavaliers: Officially clinched the division title, their 18th in a row.

With 3-weeks of games left there are only 2 races that people are watching this season, but both seem to be over...
